Hi!

Sincerity and jest feel inconsistent. I used to bill inconsistency as a primary theme of this blog. It’s still a theme, but I think what feels more true about where this blog’s title came from is that I think everything is a bit ridiculous — including me and including this About page.

So, everything I write is a bit serious, a bit earnest, and often absurd. I’m often wrestling with ideas that might persist across essays and months and years. My writing here is often loose and lightly edited. I often write in order to figure out what I think about something or try an idea — you may find that by the time you read something I’ve written, my opinion has changed at least a bit.
